What is Paint Protection Film?
Paint Protection Film (PPF), often called clear bra, is a premium flexible polyurethane layer applied directly to your vehicle's exterior panels. This optically clear film bonds seamlessly to your factory paint, serving as a durable, invisible armor that preserves the original shine without altering your vehicle's styling.
High-End shops install PPF to intercept daily road hazards before they reach and damage your costly factory paint. It absorbs physical impacts from flying gravel, road salt, and shopping carts while completely blocking environmental threats like acidic bug splatter, bird droppings, and UV-induced oxidation.
The Benefits of PPF
Rock Chips/Scratches
Coverage on high-impact areas protects your vehicle from rock chip damage, as well as light scratches and scuffs.
Clarity
At Shining Armour we only use premium film that's Ultra-Clear, offering a nearly invisible installation.
Resist Salt/Chemicals
Winter road treatments and summer bug acids are unable to etch or stain the paint where film is in place.
Self-Healing
Light scratches or swirl marks from washing or daily use will disappear with heat. The film continuously renews iteself.
Retain Value
Car and truck values are higher than ever, and keeping your vehicle protected maintains a much higer resale value.
Perfect Pairing
PPF for physical protection + a Ceramic Coating is the ultimate pairing of protection, hydrophobics & easy cleaning.
Coverage Packages
Rocker Panel
Protection
Starting at $500

Covers the lower sides of the vehicle: full rocker panels plus the high-impact zones behind the tires. This is where gravel, slush, road salt, and debris kicked up by the tires do the most damage. Best for trucks, SUVs, and anyone traveling gravel roads regularly. Works well on its own or makes a great combination with front coverage.
Partial Front
Protection
Starting at $1000

Full front bumper, partial hood, partial front fenders, A-pillars and mirrors. Protects the areas that catch the most highway debris without covering the entire front clip. Best for daily drivers and new vehicles that see regular road use but don’t need full-hood coverage. The most common starting point for PPF installations.
Full Front
Protection
Starting at $1800

The complete front clip: full bumper, full hood, full front fenders, A-pillars and mirrors. When paired with rocker coverage, this is the highest level of protection short of a full vehicle wrap. Best for new vehicles, darker paints, highway miles, and owners who want the panels most exposed to rock chips fully covered.
Additional Protection Options:
Door edges, behind door handles, full panels, interior panels & more. The three options listed simply match the most requested starting points. We also offer Matte PPF for a totally new look to your vehicle! Just fill out the PPF Quote form below with any questions or requests you may have and we'll get back to you ASAP.
What to Expect
1. Pricing - Pricing is based on more than square footage. Panel size, shape, curves, body lines, and tight angles all change how long an install takes, how many pieces are needed, and how much film is required. Two vehicles in the same class can quote differently for that reason. Final pricing is given after we see the vehicle (or detailed photos) and can confirm coverage.
2. Finish Expectations - Paint Protection Film is, first and foremost, about protection above all else. It is designed to stop chips, scratches, and impact damage.. While it's appearance is great, it does not provide a truly flawless finish. High-quality film is extremely clear, but it will never match the depth, sharpness, and refinement of properly wet-sanded and polished paint. If your goal is the absolute best possible appearance, paint correction (including wet-sanding - see Level 3 examples on the Exterior & Polishing page) is going to provide the closest results to as flawless and perfect of a finish as possible.
3. Film Lifespan - Paint Protection Film lifespan depends on more than the product itself. Climate, sun exposure, road conditions, washing habits, and how quickly contaminants like bugs, bird droppings, and sap are removed all affect how the film looks and performs over time. Regular, proper maintenance gives the film the best chance to last as designed. Harsh automatic washes, abrasive chemicals, neglected contamination, and extreme weather can shorten its appearance and service life. No film lasts forever, and results will vary from vehicle to vehicle.
